i’m leaving for peru in three hours & i can’t sleep, so i decided to start this blog to record my trip.

earlier tonight i took what i’m told will be my last hot shower for twelve days. i stayed in there for way longer than necessary. i’m going to miss hot water & being able to eat fresh fruit & brushing my teeth with water out of the tap. hopefully the rest of the trip will make all of that worthwhile.

everyone’s been saying over & over how this is a once in a lifetime experience & i know that’s true, but my head’s not there yet. i hope that i appreciate this trip as much as i know i should.

oookay, back to try to sleep again. supposed to wake up in two hours. holy shit.
